Nuwakot Durbar Square

Nuwakot Durbar Square is one of the important historical palace located around 75 km west-north of Kathmandu. During 18th century, Nepal was divided into many tiny states called as "Baise Chaubise Rajya (22-24 States)" and Nuwakot was one among them. Nuwakot was one of the important state because it was a main entrance for Kantipur (Kathmandu) in West. King Prithvi Narayan Shah of Gorkha started his Nepal unification campaign from Nuwakot as it will help him to surround  Kathmandu Valley. Nuwakot is one of the popular and easy trade route with Tibet.

The 7 storied Nuwakot Durbar is also known as "Saat Talle Durbar" and is surrounded by many other beautifully crafted landmarks and temples.
